Taking the processing of crankshafts and spindles with eccentric journals as an example, in turning, the eccentric mass of workpieces such as crank journals and eccentric cams can lead to unbalanced forces and adversely affect processing. Machining avoids such negative effects due to the low rotational speed of the workpiece.
